No one imagined that a week that started with evasions on the subway stations would end in a awakening October 18 for the Chilean people, tired of the injustices and inequalities that have persisted for more than 30 years.
This social outbreak seeks to get real social transformations, which cannot be repaired with bonds, since this malaise is not resolved with "patched measures". I have to recognize that this social outbreak according to my experience was necessary since a long time ago. I have seen my neighbors organized to make cacerolazos and assemblies in which they try to inform clearly each injustice we face, that is, to normalizing, for example, in the health field , where people have to wait more than a month for a blood tesy or an hour with the cardiologist. Another example was the salary in which we gave a space for each neighbor to tell their own stories of " how they managed to get to the end of the month" . At the end of each assembly a "community lunch" was organized that gave me an opportunity to get to know better my neighbors and show me that we all want to live with dignity regardlessof our age.
I must admit personally that in each organization of my community, I was encouraged to continue participating on the different assemblies or marches convened, but I also felt a lot of anger for each person who lost their "eye" in the hands of an institution that it´s suposed to protect the people and has only caused damage to us, I hope that all bad police practices do not stay unpunished.
Finally, although there have been great mobilizations, the government has not heard the demands of the people yet, this cannot end without achieving what is really expected which is "DIGNITY" in all areas oif life. This revolution must continue until dignity become customary.
